Sen Cal Kapimi : Episode 10 - My Impressions !

 Instead of writing a lengthy essay, I am going to write my impressions I had as I was watching the show! Let me first say that the makers are able to hold our interest with nothing important happening for past two episodes. Though as a plot progress, nothing important happened, it does reiterate the character growth. And the way both Eda and Serkan are growing close but still remain distant. Sometimes feel like banging their heads together. But that is what most of the romantic comedies about! So let's check out episode 10!

• As Eda walked into Serkan's room, the way Serkan saw her and welcomed her, wow if I were Eda I would have melted. His eyes were full of love, how can Eda not see it! Serkan for all his robotic image was shown with heart in his eyes. He had love in his eyes! I feel we are able to see how Serkan is slowly falling for Eda! 
• That is why when Selin announced her marriage plans, Serkan's immediate reaction shocked me. The way he lets go Eda's hands and his extreme reaction confounded me. He has many a times revealed that there is nothing romantic with Selin, its more of habit. And to keep the shares within the family and not to allow Kaan via Ferit. So why such extreme reaction. His restlessness, controlled anger, biting sarcasm all were confusing. Then there was another scene where he was looking at Eda angrily. 
• Eda kept mentioning the ending of contract. Was he angry about it? The scene where he was glaring at Eda looked like that. He also looked as if he was more concerned about how it affects Eda. But that initial reaction felt like he was angry for Selin, which I didn't like it. 
• One interesting aspect in this episode was the relationship between Eda and Aydan (Serkan's mom). The way it started from snobbish attitude to respecting Eda for what she is - Aydan impressed me. She was not your stereotypical TV series mom. She has more dimensions. 
• Having said that I was not enamoured by her story with her husband. I mean being jealous, trying to kindle jealousy - sounds very childish. And what is with the dad chr suddenly acting like a biker guy wearing leather jackets and orange shirts? Do I look like I care? No way! Initially he was shown as one aloof chr having a complicated relationship with son. Where is that guy? suddenly he is sprouting wisdom, sports younger man's wardrobe and tries to kindle romance with his wife. Unable to relate to the dad chr at all! And waste of time showing his story. 
• Engin is another one confused character. What does he want? And people say women are complex. I am losing interest with his romantic escapades. The way he is advising Serkan, makes him a mature friend who acts so dumb in his own personal life. Ironical!
• Serkan and Engin conversation shows Serkan's feelings. He is confused between what is real and what if fake? But after being so rational, he feels giving in to feelings is not right. He can be seen fighting against his feelings for Eda. He will not accept it easily. 
• Btw most of us were keen on new character - a new guy. Was that the pottery guy? Like seriously? i hope I am wrong! If this potter guy was touted to be the new guy, then we all ended up with egg on our face. If I remember right, it was Aydan chr posting about the new guy. so it must be the same one. We all were really fooled. That storyline is not interesting and looks unrelated. 
• Loved seeing Serkan blushing reaction seeing Eda looking beautiful. But i feel Eda's dressing can be even better to complement her looks. The dresses are not that impressive. i have seen her wearing better clothes. Need a good designer
• Serkan's reaction to Eda's phone call was funny. It showed him being affected by Eda. The whole story at times feels more male perspective than female. 
• He does send mixed signals. One time he shows all worked up over Eda and then the way he reacted to Selin's marriage was giving another kind of signal
• And finally we got to see a glimpse of Eda's past in this episode. That scene was very poignant. Finally she trusted him enough to reveal a little bit of her past. 
• Btw I have a doubt. Serkan and Selin must have had physical relationship right? I find it odd for them to stay together. There is nothing to show that physical intimacy between them. Usually there will be intimacy between such couples. With these two I cannot see that. That is why i wonder did they have such relationship? But serkan telling about her foreign vacation and other such things hinted that they did have such close relationship. Even Selin mentions it at the start. 
• Office scene with contract was used by Serkan to put Ferit in place. he was able to do it very easily. But it made Eda realize that Serkan's jealousy is making him do this. All his actions hint at his helpless reaction and no wonder Eda feels Serkan is angry about Selin's marriage. She also realizes being egoistic he cannot confess his feelings. So she decides that he is still in love with Selin. Even Serkan's denial does not convince her. And he does not deny strongly because then he will have to own up his feelings for Eda. Selin is safer for him.
• By the way, was it love at first sight for Serkan? He mentions it at one place. 
• The trailer scene of Selin asking Serkan was placed in the last as usual. But Selin misunderstanding Serkan's conversation made it interesting for me as it was about Eda not Selin.  It shows Serkan more focused on Eda not on Selin. It looks like his interest in Selin was only for holding. His initial reaction was more to do with how her marriage will impact his relationship with Eda. I think when Serkan said that before he knows he is going to end up being married with two kids. Was it sarcastic comment or wishful thinking, I wonder. 
• Somewhere I feel even Eda is looking to safeguard her emotions. She is not even considering that Serkan might like her. The way he looks at her, cares for her - should have said something. But she is so sure that he doesnt like her. To protect herself, she is being vocally loud to show her interest to get out of the contract. She has no where given any hint about her feelings other than her eyes. Again a person like Serkan who cannot even understand his feelings, what will he understand from hers. 
• One doubt i have is when did Eda fall for Serkan? The early episode showed Eda so in love with another character that she acts as a doormat for him to the disgust of her friends. How can she suddenly forget him and fall for Serkan? Some kind of self talk to show that her early relationship was not really love would have been nice to see. Otherwise it is too sudden for me. She was all hateful in the first but i think all that hate changed very soon. 

Even my points have become an essay! What to do, I am a hopeless fan!
